The best bakery in Bratislava – perhaps in all of Slovakia. The bread, croissants and olive baguette are at the highest level.
An analyst once said that a bakery should be in your neighbourhood because people don't want to travel far for bread. Bakery KRUH is the exception to that rule. Twice a week I make the trip across Bratislava, and it is always worth it.
Their bread is simply on another level – crispy crust, dense crumb, a natural fermentation that you taste in every bite. The croissants are buttery and flaky exactly as they should be. And the olive baguette? That is an absolute champion in its category.
The staff are warm and passionate about their craft. You can sense that every loaf is taken seriously. The space is narrow and functional, without unnecessary decoration – all energy goes into baking.
KRUH is for me the best bakery in Bratislava and, in all likelihood, in all of Slovakia. If you value artisan baking, this is a mandatory stop.
