Café
Felanitx, Spain

A café gem in the historic centre of Felanitx with the compelling story of a German couple who sold everything to open it.

Places with a story always draw us in, and Café Candela has a genuinely beautiful one. A German couple sold everything they had back home, bought a building in the historic centre of Felanitx, and lovingly renovated it. When we asked the owner about the design, he modestly credited his wife – and from the result, it's clear she has truly refined taste. The space is simply beautiful.

We had coffee and a quick breakfast. I would rate the coffee at 7 out of 10 – it was good, above average, but didn't quite reach the level of purely specialty cafés. What truly shone were the food items. The open-faced sandwiches were excellent – well-balanced flavors, fresh ingredients, everything coming together beautifully. The only criticism might be the portions, which could have been a bit larger.

The service was outstanding – attentive, friendly, and clearly proud of what they have built here. That feeling transfers to the guests as well. The atmosphere is quiet and calm, which feels natural in Felanitx's historic surroundings – no tourist bustle, just local authenticity.

Overall, this is a place I recommend to anyone who finds themselves in the Felanitx area. It's not just a café – it's a place with heart and a story, and that's precisely what makes it exceptional.
