Bette in Carlsberg Byen impressed me right from the moment I walked in. The café is designed with remarkable thoughtfulness — the space seamlessly blends a cosy adult café corner with a well-equipped play area for children. It is not a random assembly of tables and plastic toys, but a considered concept where every detail feels intentional. Exactly the kind of place I wish I could find in more European cities.

The coffee also pleased me. I did not expect miracles — at a family-oriented venue that is not always a given — but the espresso was full-bodied, well-balanced, and clearly made with care. The staff were warm and attentive without feeling rushed or overworked. During our stay in Copenhagen we visited Bette multiple times, and each time I left satisfied.

One of the most valuable aspects of the place is that as a parent you can genuinely relax here. The children are occupied with play, the surroundings are safe and easy to oversee, and you can drink your coffee and have a proper conversation in peace. In many cafés where a children's corner is merely an afterthought, the adult atmosphere suffers. Here that is not the case — both groups have enough space and everything works in harmony.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Bette to any family visiting Copenhagen. It is not the place where you seek the best cup of coffee in the city, but it is a place where you will genuinely unwind and where both children and parents will feel at ease. In my view, that is a greater achievement than even the finest single-origin can offer.
